Hi All,

This seems a ggreat site for info. I used to have a series 1 rangie years back but have just taken delivery of a new County HT in Zambezi. The dealer has fitted a boost chip which is the strangest idea i have ever seen for a farm vehicle!

one question i have though......it has a white roof???

why do some people order defenders with white roofs?

Should i spray it to match the car??

hi there.

I am assuming that you have not bought your new Deafener from a LR main dealer.
I would be supprised if a main dealer would fit a power upgrade, and still give full standard warranty.

Also on the last 2 new ht's we bought, the body coloured roof came as standard with county pack.
The 300 tdi we had in 98 had county pack but a white roof, and having it painted to mach the body was extra.
The idea of the white roof I was told is to reflect heat, more suited to hotter climates.
Though as we are all to blame for global warming because of our "gas guzzles", perhaps thats how they all come now.

Has you new Def been supplied by an importer?.

The car is from a main dealer (Pentland in Edinburgh). The dealer manager always has a 90 with superchip for 6 months at a go because he lives on a farm. the garage have given me written confirmation that it is covered by full LR warranty too.

I had a look under the car on a ramp and no damage at all so must be a flat farm!

Just had a look in a Defender brochure lying around and it says that Zambezi silver Defender's didn't come with white roofs. A replacement part, perhaps?

Cheers

No! they aren't ugly, they just are not beautiful, like an E type Jaguar, or an MGA, or Brigitte Bardot, 40 years ago.
