It's only a guess but what's the chances that it's had a new fuel pump fitted and whoever did it fitted the pump fof a 110 instead of a 90? the pumps have the sender in-built.

Or they bent the float arm down slightly.
I have the same issue on my 110 which had a new sender unit fitted when I bought it. Just mine runs short at 1/2 tank. Someone told me it was electrical however that didn't make sence to me so a bent float seams more likely. Guess this would mean a new sender unit again?

Or just removing the pump and adjusting the bent arm

The arm is just a stainless wire about the gauge of a wire coat hanger. You can easily bend it by hand.

I followed Shifty's method and it worked a treat! If your keeping the 90, chances are it will have to come out again some day so get cutting!
