Defender TD5 Problems

Mine does the same "off we go then" leap as well, but it seems only to happen when it's been shut off for a while. Ie over night or at work, pop in the shop for a packet of fags and it's fine.
I'm wondering if it's a sticky turbo, as the shaft has a bit of play.By the way the power comes in, it feels like the turbo switching on.

Viscous fan freeing off is the other favourite.
