Howdy

Just received a new Power Steering Pump for my Defender TD5 from LR Series in the post today. I notice there is no gasket with it.
Called the LR dealer and they said there was no gasket listed for a Power steering pump on a Defender TD5.
I just wanted to double check on this forum before I "operate". Its seems odd that there wouldnt be a gasket?

Cheers

Just been through RAVE and Haynes and no mention of any gasket when replacing steering pump. The new pump should be ready to go so its just hoses, brackets, and belt to fit it then fill and bleed.

To bleed, jack the front wheels off the ground then with the engine running, slowly turn the steering from lock to lock and top up the fluid as necessary. Check the fluid after a day or two just to make sure the levels are good. There is a bleed screw/nipple on the top of the steering box but normally they are rusted solid and shear off when you try to undo them. I've always left well alone and never had any issues bleeding the steering as above.
