Just came in out of the dark and cold, trying to fit my new shocks on the rear 110 hi-cap 2005
and the washers don't want to go up into the bottom cup? remember last time I had a nightmare trying to get that bottom nut on, just not enough thread sticking out and cant compress the rubber bush, haven't even got that far this time
where am I going wrong? Please

Thanks, Flat,I have tried the such like and loading the truck up with logs, but its the distance between in the cup that's short and cant see a way of pushing the shock further in to give me more length at the thread

Remove one of washers above the bracket then replace the shock and with bottom washer on you should now get the nut on. Turn it up to squash the bush's a bit [ you can leave it for a bit like this] remove/and then replace shock/washer and with luck the nut will go on. A couple of extra threads on the shock by the makers would be good.

Aah sorry I misunderstood you, o thought you couldn’t get the bottom thread far enough through the bracket

Yeh that's right the thread will not come out the bottom far enough to get the nut on like I can't compress the rubber bushes
the above sounds like a plan to hopefully squash them a bit
I'm also reading that with these Terraferma HD shocks I may need to cut those cups off, some frigging daylight wouldn't go a miss, ha ha

I had zackly the same problem. The threads are really short of the TF shocks.

Yes, cut the cups off, they are spot welded on and are quite thin so you can use a sharp cold chisel and then clean up the bracket with a flapper wheel
Alternativly you can drill the welds out.
The thick washers then fit up against the bracket with their lip in the central hole and the nut will fot on the thread .. just. When tight there is only 3 or 4 threads sticking out which I fretted about for a while (as there was about 15 on the previous shocks) but it's not moved.

Thanks for that,I must confess I needed the truck for log deliveries today, so I trimmed the rubber bushes and put it back without the washers, got me through the day which was great,i will get the cole chisel sharpened and get on it over the hols...thanks again
