Any view abt this dealer advertising on this forum? I have been waiting over a month for bits I ordered and paid.... it may be inpatient but other dealers as British Parts and Paddocks normally get the goods here (Royal Kingdom of Sweden) within 5-8 workdays. And those two answer inquiries abt delivery promptly and accurate. I cant really claim this with Defender Bits. Its a pity they cant fix basics in business ,well they manage to get paid but delivery part is weak, as the web site is fine and lots of good stuff for sale. Any views or experience to share ant Defender Bits can one trust them?

iirc the law says they have 30days if no other timeframe is agreed on. If you aren't happy and they are over this, then cancel the order and go elsewhere :)

I would either call them or if you dont want to do that then email them but im sure there a forum sponsor so should be around to answer. Too be fair the chap has been pretty good on the forum i seem to remember.

Maybe post this in the "sponsor section"? you can find it in the 'for sales/wanted section' i think.

good luck

Ok thanks, I have mailed trying to get an specific answer I just got an answer they were out of stock but not which item etc and when they expected delivery in and now they're not respond to my last mail. So I will call and see if it works better than mail.

I've dealt with them on a number of occasions and have had no problems. They did send me a wrong alternator recently but replaced it with no hassle.

I've ordered stuff from them before and it's hit and miss, wont use them again but if they have stuff in stock you usually get the stuff pretty quickly but if they don't, they seem to take a LONG time.

Good to know , seems to be their normal habit then..... I was a bit worried they were going out of business.

As above, I have ordered bits but everything always seems to be out of stock with no mention on the site and so it takes a while to arrive.

All good besides that though, friendly and legit etc..

There is two scenarios, either they have no structure and badly managed and are insufficiently financed so they have no credit at the suppliers and cant afford keeping a reasonable stock of bits, or; they are smart and have low/no stock and finance purchasing with customers money (prepaid orders)and gets a brilliant cash flow and return on investment no money tied in stock or receivables. I tend to go for the latter as website and assortment and as you say everything is fine except from accuracy of deliveries. Is it a public/ltd company? I have got curious think I will check up their financial situation.

We hold extensive stocks of a large number of product lines (over 2500!) but we do run out of items from time to time and occasionally run into problems with suppliers and long lead times on certain items. Many large items and those where there are multiple choices such as Exmoor Trim products are sourced to order and normally available within a couple of days.
As we are quite particular over quality and we won't supply the cheap and nasty products that are quickly and readily available from elsewhere, we sometimes have to wait for the good stuff to come in. We are always open about if we have an item in stock and try to give a lead time if asked.
I don't think I will respond to mischievous speculation on our financial status!

Quite right but as he's not in this country I would cut him some slack.

However how come the OP has been waiting for over a month with no explanation as to why?

After reading the comments from others I don't know if I would order from you, there are plenty other suppliers out there with a second to none customer service.

the key, as ever is communication my friend. If you haven't got an item a customer ordered, email them to let them know.

The OP would be happier I am sure if you had emailed him and said "Many thanks for your ordered for A,B,C,D & E. Unfortunately, B&C are out of stock at the moment, B is expected in 2 weeks, but I don't have a date for C, but will let you know as soon as possible."

I myself have just picked up another contract today, all because my competition didn't bother to tell the client he couldn't make it to site. The client wasn't overly bothered he couldn't make it to site, but wished he had known as others were also involved. I arrived when promised, carried out the work required, and now have a new client. Maybe only a little work, but ten tens is a hundred.

I just had a look at the order in question, it's held up due to a pair of LHD headlights, specially ordered as we don't stock them normally. These were put on order and we chase every so often. Our suppliers have no stock so we have no option but to wait and keep trying or to cancel the order.
We don't pretend to be perfect, we do our best for our customers and if I had an unlimited budget would hold far more stock but too much stock sat on shelves isn't good for business either.

Thanks for your comments, we will take them on board. I will look at how we handle the communications where orders are delayed and see if we can improve things.

:eek::eek: That is really really bad customer service.

Wont be looking at that site, thanks :D

I think you need to contact Accy or Roy(site owners) and let them know your problem.

If there is no reason why you haven't recieved your items then they need to ask if the site wants to be associated with that!

Ive heard good things from everyone else though in there defence. Not saying your lying, just saying it goes against what ive heard.

Ive bought from him as well, but i dont live in Sweden so no experience with that.

Have you called them?
