Hey guys, this is my first Landy so need some advice from you old hands.

When I turn the steering wheel it feels a bit jumpy also more often than not it squeeks?

Any ideas?

Many thanks
James

check the joints on the steering linkages, expect some free play in them but will help to clean n grease them - also get someone to turn the steering wheel while you've got your head under the bonnet as all of the components are easy to see and you should be able to tell where the squeek is coming from

When mine goes jumpy it's coz i've tightened the allen bolt on the steering box up too much (but it's a fine line between too tight and wobbly!)

Thanks for the replies - think this is down to the belt.

I have bought a new one however now need to know how to change it :)

Any advice or links would be appreciated - I have done a search but not found anything - have also ordered a Haynes manual which will be here in a few days.

Also whcih bit controls how tight or slack the belt it?

Thanks again
James
