Defender 90 Side Steps

Hi all,
Can anyone help me with some side steps I just brought. The seller seems a decent guy who knows Landy's inside out. Says these definatley came off a Defender 90 but I can't see any way to mount them. Has anyone come across this style before?

on a disco they often bolt to body mount then halfway along underside side of the out rigger, the inner shorter leg going to body mount bolt
