Hello, I have just bought a defender 90 tdci 2008 model which has a excessive clonking from the under side been told its the drive train, i took it back to dealer who replaced end caps on the half shaft and bushes on the dampers and said its 90% better, on collection the clonk is still there went changeing up the gearbox in 1st 2rd and 3rd gears, i went to a land rover specialist garage said they would fit a td5 diff there much better, other mates have told me it could be transfer box flang needs tightening or clutch problem, could anybody help as the dealer is saying they all clonk i think not.I took it to main landy dealers they also said theres a problem and should take it back to dealer who sold it to you, looks like the legal route them?. Its only done 30.000 miles and very disapointed with the dealer in sheffield who sold it me, had the car on the road for 7 days payed £12700 they said they would buy it back for £11900 joke.
