Looking for some advice about which of the lights should illuminate on the instrument panel on my defender. The handbrake, glowplug, oil and battery lights up ,but nothing else just wondered if any of the others should like the diff lock etc.
Ive owned the vehicle for 8mths and theyve never worked , can anyone advise and also if so if just bulbs or common fault.
Regards
Rob

do you mean when you first turn the ignition on, is so, IFAIK thats correct, the others only come on when said item is on/activated.
at least thats how mine is (bar the handbrake one, cos it doesn't work, not looked at that yet)

Lot of symbol panels are there but many won't be connected

As a rule, ones which should work on all models:

indicators
lights
main beam
hand brake
oil
glow plug
diff

(think that's it)

Diff, indicators, lights, main beam only light when activated - not on ignition on

If not working could be bulb, push connector behind panel (can get coroded), fuse, wiring or the switch that supplies

slight side step, anyone know what base they are, want to get some LED replacements for these and the pathetic instrument lamps

thanks for that.
the diff , handbrake and lights dont illuminate. will check for bulb or fuse issues

Hand brake light doesn't light up on my current 110 CSW or my previous 110. It has the switch on the handbrake lever but no wires in the dash that I can see it goes to
