Defender 110 rear crossmember replacement

I have an ex MOD 300Tdi defender. Chassis is in good order apart from the rear crossmember which I will need to replace. Give I have a NATO tow hitch (towing a sankey trailer) direct to the crossmember with original wiring.

I've read that Black Sheep crossmembers were one of the strongest but are no longer being made. Can anyone recommend what my options may be please.

Ian Dixon makes a choice of 3mm or 6mm heavy duty ones. These will be the strongest out there in my opinion.

Ha, beaten to it. I was going to suggest Ian Dixon...have his rock-tree sliders, they're very well made.

Make sure new one is galved, otherwise you will be doing it again in a few years.
