Good afternoon all -

After 5 years of living with my Def 110 2.8 (and a few electrical gremlins) I have started investigating a complete re-wiring job, that is the full thing: Engine loom / lights , the lot.

I would like to do it properly though, drawing a plan on paper, constructing the wiring on a board, then install it properly, using the appropriate wiring products etc. - In fact i'd even want to work on this myself, as the vehicle often goes travelling and I also do want to know it inside out!

Does any of you know if there are specialists that do this (I am thinking of the folks that rebuild old classics, etc)? and what the costs may be (apart from " a lot!"?

Any help gratefully received as usual!

is there actually much call for this. my soon to be father is law used to make wiring looms in the aircraft industry and we were discussing something like this a while back.

custom made adaptable looms for landrovers - so if you want to add a fridge or something you just purchase an add on part for the loom

all with waterproof connectors are various points so you could strip out parts of the loom when you are stripping the landy.

we werent sure if it was worth pursuing?
