sorry mate not that 1 hope its better than yeovil lr just had my defender for warranty work for 2 days before the new year then again last week for another 2 days.
and i seem to be just beating my head against a wall, they dont seem to take any notice of what i'm saying .
1. the throttle response was shyte (made it worse the first time then put it back how it was the second time ).
2 . ECU box has water ingress , they said "cant seal it so we drilled some holes in it to let the water out"!
3 . wiper arm has a very weak spring above 40mph it leaves a un-wiped bit in the middle (right in my eye line) still the same 1 after 2 visits last visit they said its got a split in the blade (on the bottom edge ) when i first bought it i got some of new type blades they where worse than the origanals.
when i have a minute this week i'm taking it to land rover direct

Throttle response of my TDi is spot on. I push the pedal, the funny cably thing moves, pulls on an arm. That make the pump go SQUIRRRRRRRRT instead of just SQUIRT and the car goes faster!

Simple! :D

Sorry though, i can't help about that garage i refuse to pay garage prices, cos im tight fisted :D

Nightmare, is it all dealers think we are complete numpties then.......???

bear in mind the majority of people they deal with.

Me an my ma went to test drive a new (3 years ago) Fiesta, for her driving intruction business. I ended up explaining to the demonstrator what TDCi meant, and how it worked. ****.

And then he had the bare facedness to say to me 'i just have to sell these, why should I know how they work?'

And when my mate told me how much he paid for new pads and shoes on his X reg LDV van. 500 foockin pounds!!! Ill do it meself...

An X Reg LDV ain't worth a monkey! The bits to do that would be less that fifty nicker and it should only take an hour or two.

:focus:

I found Yeovil LR to be okay(ish).

I went in, bought a head gasket and manifold gasket and left. Went back the next day and swapped the manifold gasket for a head set. Would've been nice if the parts chap had known his stuff and told me I needed a head set in the first place. Or if I'd read the chuffing manual before I went!

ive used the parts department at gordon lamb in chesterfield and they have been brilliant. the guy was very helpful and has phoned me a few times to update me on my order. i cant complain at that.:clap2:

They have the best name of all the dealers in the area. Hunters in Bristol are about to close down and as such aren't taking in any more vehicles. TH Whites in Swindon seem to have quite a few vehicles going back for the same fault over and over. MJ Fews I have yet to hear a bad word said about.

But if you go to Tesco and buy corn flakes do you expect the checkout girl to tell you that you need milk? LOL :)

I know we're all petrol, or deesoil, heads in here, but do you eat head gaskets for breakfast? Expensive diet that one!

And when I go to Maccy Ds they always ask if I want fries and a drink! I'd forget if they didn't.
