Is that a forum rule then? Im also a senior member/contributor on another, large forum so I understand forum protocol! I didnt see the point in leaving the thread open as it was down to a totally blonde moment on my behalf :confused2:.
But, for the record, I totally missed the bleedin obvious & it was nothing more than a faulty earth lead on the body terminal. Moral is it always pays to walk away & have a tea break when you cant see the wood for the trees; it was a schoolboy mistake really, the short circuit when dissing the battery just made me panic as I feared thought I'd fried the ECU.
