Hi all,

From 2012 on all new cars in Belgium will have to be equipped with daytime running lights, in the years after the older cars will have to be adapted to have the same. Therefore I started thinking about and I installed such lights already, however I don't know whether these will be legally accepted on the MOT. Also have a small problem as I can't get them on the same height, maybe one of the technically more experienced guys around could have some advice as how to fix this ? If one feels he can be of help pse let me know and I'll post a picture to give an exact idea of my problem. Thanks in advance and take care.

wouldn't it just be easier to turn your lights on every time you drive?

(This is recommended by at least 2 advanced driver training courses)

ever since I took the training, I've done it as a matter of habit. Certainly gives you more presence on the road. A few of the guys I work with have tried it too, and they say definitely less people have pulled out in front of them when driving with lights on during the day.

I get ya now ! Unfortunately, dear willow, they will not pass an mot as they are not both the same height, and are independently illuminated and extinguished, they should both come on and off together.

However, were you to use a single, centrally mounted candle, and two mirrors at 45 degrees, wouldn't see that as a problem.

keep smiling
