Spotlights come under the "auxiliary lighting" rules, whereby they are only permitted to be used, when they can't dazzle other road users, ie. when main beams are on.

DRLs are designed for daytime use, so must extinguish at night, so to prevent dazzling to other road users.
DRLs also have a completely different light output compared to spotlights. DRLs diffuse the light quickly, so they're visible from a wide angle. Spotlight have tightly focused beams, so the light goes a long way down the road.

I seriously doubt those little things are 9 Watts, and if they are, they're going to last minutes before they overheat and burn out.

Run them at 14.2 Volts and measure the current consumption. This will give you the true wattage of the units.

If it's anything more than 1 Watt, then they're likely to die pretty quickly. LED emitters is very efficient at providing light for a given wattage, so almost all the input energy is turned to heat. Just feel how hot a 5 Watt domestic LED bulb gets, and those bulbs are designed to take the heat away from the LED emitters.

So it's fairly obvious that a high wattage LED that can't dissipate the heat, will fail in short order.

At 570mW, they aren't being driven very hard, so should be fine.

It was! Some sod has been on my PC!!! I'll check and get back to you all. There's gonna be a murder!

I'll repeat what was important for this mod, with the info of what I'm doing.
For instance, I fitted a Master-Switch today, with a small indicating LED (white) to show me - the driver, it's powered on and activated.
And that's the beauty of this design, it's completely flexible.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to complete the job.
I'll take photos and post them.
As for the missing files/posts, I'll look into this asap.

My PC is now Password protected.
Merde, what else may have been tampered with?
I'm about to run all kinds of software programs to check.

Right. I have family staying, and a nephew just admitted to typing something. He has not admitted to deleting my posts, but he will!
I can't murder him as my sister has threatened me with murder in consequence.
HE, will not be back!!!
Anyway, I'm posting a photo - just taken, of what I did today.
The Master is the shiny toggle-switch and the LED can be seen on the other side of another Switch.
That other switch, by the way, powers a rear viewing camera. I also have a frontal camera as I like to be covered.
