:( My Td5 is being a pain of late....along with both tdi 300s

All the dash warning lights come on as normal (Td5) when I turn on the ignition but the HDC light doesn 't come on (even though hill descent is working), neither dies the selt-belt light come on if I unbuckle..... The ride height light comes on, and the parking break light. Am I missing the obvious? Checked the fuse box and can't find anything?

Did they ever come on?

Have you checked owners manual to see if other lights come on as they should during the self check?

Cheers

Yes, they used to come on, and yes, the lights all come on with the self-check.... Confused? I am..

I should amend the original post re. Hdc light. It comes on as normal with the self-check, and used to come on when I use hdc mode. However, now when I use hdc the systen works (automatic breaking) but the light doesn't come on to show wI've engaged hdc.

Well,

I am confused with the way you have written the above.

Do ALL the light come on when the self check is done? as described in the owners manual.

Cheers

As per original post, yes, all the lights come on with the initial self-check.

Having taken various fuses out and replaced them the hdc light now comes on when hdc is chosen.. Which is good.

The only remaining conundrum is the seat-belt light - it doesn't light up when I unbuckle. It's not a problem, but shouldn't it light up?

Lastly.... When I raise the air suspension to maximum and the light remains on....
If I exceed' the top recommended speed ( abour 15kph) at that height is it normal that the light flashes and the suspension automatically drops to 'normal' height?

RT(F)M and you'll se that you have no problem:rolleyes:, the seatbelt warning is set to not come on(it has morfe settings) and the SLS's behaviour is as it was convceived by LR

As I've already said, the seatbelt light is just a reminder. The buckle is NOT electrically active so it won't show that the seatbelt is undone after the light has gone out. It stays on for about 6 seconds.
The air suspension is supposed to do that.
I would suggest that you download a copy of the Owner's Handbook. It's all in there.

I just had an idea..... RTFManual :):):)

I blame my brain.......and my increasing years......and a soupçon of stupidity. I'm sure I never used to be this dumb, but my memory isn't so good either, so maybe I always was.

In my (lame) defence I've been using the suspension on high for a week and been limping along with the warning light singing away. Obviously, having disconnected all the plugs at the pump (ongoing problem) the suspension hasn't dropped - all fixed now. As for seat belt warning light - no, definitely not working as it should.

.....and thanks everyone :(

What are you expecting the seat belt warning light to do?
This is what it should do:
  • When you turn on the ignition the seat belt lamp should light for approximately 6 seconds.
  • It will not illuminate again until the next time you turn the ignition on.
  • It does not illuminate whether you have the driver's seat belt done up or not.
  • It will not illuminate if you undo the seat belt while driving.
  • In other words it does nothing! well, nothing more than remind you to wear you seat belt when you turn the ignition on.
The only part of the seat belt system which is "active" are the pre-tensioners which form an integral part of the "Supplementary Restraint System". The seat belt buckles are NOT active and DO NOT indicate whether the seat belts are done up or not.

It all depends on the setting, i presume the OP's is on "Timed",: these are the settings:
1. Timed = The warning lamp is on for 6 seconds after the ignition is turned
on.
2. Buckle = The warning lamp is on for 6 seconds after ignition is turned on or
until the buckle is fastened.
3. Ignition II = If the buckle is unfastened when the ignition is turned on then the
warning lamp comes on for 6 seconds.
4. Disable = The warning lamp is not used.
