So just had my new landy inspected by a landy specialist.

All thing considered I’m quite happy, now it’s time to sort as many of the issues as possible, first one is the instrument panel.
Are they serviceable on the D2, the bottom light for my oil pressure and sports mode etc aren’t visible ( you can just about make them out but they seem to have fallen away).

Can you open the instrument panel for servicing at all or do I need to find second a hand instrument panel?

Thanks all

It’s easy to open up. Mine…

Strange that those lights aren’t visible. take a picture and upload it.

Thanks juke I’m going to take a stab at that tomorrow on my last day of lockdown. Question, is the dash plug and play, and by the I mean I’m not going to end up with warnings or issues when I refit it’s am I...like immobiliser issues?

It's plug and play but a more complex part than it appears, it has it's own software and memory not just lights and dials

Thanks, do I need to worry about opening it then?. I’m only looking at trying to fix the light visibility issue and then plug it back in.

I dont really understand what's your problem cos all the warning ligts should be visible anyway cos they are LEDs, they can be on or off

I will try and take a picture tomorrow, but the lower lights on the panel aren’t visible, I can make out the top red glow of the oil warming light and that’s about it. The guy that inspected the vehicle today thinks the backing has come off obscuring the view of the lights. So I will take the unit apart and find out if it’s that simple or the LEDs aren’t working.

So here is a picture of the issue, it may simple be the LED’s are out but that wouldn’t explain why I have half an oil warning light.

That's not electronic problem IMO, remove and inspect the display which is in front of the LEDs cos maybe those lights were constantly on and the previous owner tried to blank them with tape or something, as long as you see those sections the LEDs are working cos they deliver only the light, the icon's shape is given by the front pannel of the IP if you see what i mean

Yeah the landy specialist that took the vehicle to give it an inspection after I bought Said he tough something us come away at the back but I hadn’t thought about it being “Blacked out”. Luckily everything’s working and no codes sooooo we will see.

is it simple enough to remove, I’m going to have a shot now

It's not hard if you are handy. Remove the two screws from the bottom of the binnacle then pull the top cos it's clipped at the back, unplug the switches and remove the binnacle then it will become obvious how to get the IP out

and Yep guess what I found. Some one in the past had black taped the Sports mode and Manual mode lights out . At least it was an easy fix and all is working so I’m happy.

thanks dude

Welcome and well done... though i'm wondering why were those warnings blanked in the first place?

Yeah me to it’s a bit of a worry but the whole landy had a top to bottom inspection and no faults with it found, I have tested it and it works and no codes are showing so who knows....maybe I will find out in a few thousand miles :(:)
