Looks like the intake manifold is designed to block two of the water ways in the engine. What's that about? And which way around does it go, am I supposed to fit it so that it blocks the rear water ways (furthest from the front of the vehicle - I didn't take this apart).

Cheers,
Roger

Looking at the top of the engine, it looks like there are eight intake holes, one per cylinder, and 4 coolant holes. Looking at the bottom of the manifold (in the picture) there are eight intake holes and only 2 coolant holes.

You've got two coolant holes at one end that are blocked off (top of the photo).

In other words, does it go on like the first pic, or the 2nd?

Aha! I wondered where the T-stat went. That's it inside the air inducting manifold device. Funny, I ended up with two new t-stat gaskets and I wondered where they went.

Thanks for the help, and please be prepared for some more exposing of my ignorance.

Thanks,
Roger
