D2 Water Exit Hole

Just a query on the D2 the water that gallon into the scuttle panel and exits out from the hole on the wing it exits out by the mudflaps etc ? Is there any possibility it could come out on the passenger door sill ? I have attached a couple of images ?

The windscreen is dry and no water in the footwell or up behind the dash etc. I’ve tried searching for advice but nothing so far. Also the exit hole in the wing should there be a tube there or is it down into the wing & exit out the bottom ?

The holes at each end of the scuttle were the in the design of the discovery before the disco 2 and the RR before that with out any issues, what u see is just how the vehicles left the factory, but unfortunately water can travel and corrosion will follow to that part of inner wing and end up on the footwell floor.

The only way to find the source of the water look under the dash with a torch and behind the footwell kick panel after its been raining, also it maybe from high up under the dash if theres an perforation to the metal in the engine bay, or eve via heater vent that already been mentioned in the forum.

Thats how i found a water leak behind the footwell kick panel from an over lapping spot welded seam that hadn’t been sealed correctly, it took a bit of time to find but two minutes to fix.
Water can also flow over the bottom of the rubber door seal.

Hi, if you take the wheel arch liner out you can see in there I think & no, there's no tube from that drain hole so as you say it just drains away down the inside of the wing. Mine holds a fair bit of water along the seam of the bulk head so I ran a bead of Sikaflex along it as I know the stuff LR use goes brittle (same stuff that's in the roof gutters) & becomes porous. I've got to take my w/arch liner out in the next couple of days so I'll pour some water through that hole & have a look to see where it ends up, although mine has side steps & mudflaps in that area.

My footwell leak on the passenger side took a while to track down but it was coming from a rust spot where, in the engine bay, the inner wing meets the bulk head but after an application of good old Capt. tolleys it has now stopped leaking then whilst hoovering it on Sunday I noticed the drivers side is doing the same:mad: but to get to that join it looks like I'll have to remove the servo, I'm just hoping I can move it enough without disconnecting the brake lines from the master cylinder. These things are certainly sent to try us:(.
 
Cheers Guys , as I mentioned the water appears only at the passenger door see image and it trickles down into the footwell area .

Evening guys , managed to throw a couple of buckets of water on the passenger door of the D2 this evening left it for a few minutes opened the door and there it was a puddle of water. Now is this a coincidence or could it be the door seal or door needing adjusted ?

Possibly the door isn’ t pressing against the seal face so water is running over the front of the seal, the door is the only adjustment available.
Also pull off the leading edge and top and of the seal, or it pull all off if u like, look for any rusty metal or rusty water stains, thats an indicator of water entry from behind the seal.
Bottom line is replace the seal…
