So I was reading through the RAVE manual on the fuel delivery system for the TD5 and spotted this:

"Unlike other Diesel engines, the Td5 engine has no injection pump. The diesel direct injection system receives fuel at pressure from a two stage fuel pump located in the fuel tank. The system incorporates a fuel return to the fuel pump, via a fuel cooler attached to the inlet manifold and a fuel filter. A fuel pressure regulator is located in a housing on the rear of the cylinder head. The regulator maintains the fuel delivered to the injectors at a constant pressure and returns
excess fuel back to the fuel filter and pump via the fuel cooler."

Is this a misprint or are TD5's using some sort of wizardry to pressurise the fuel into the common rail?

The question I suppose is why you think the TD5 is common rail? at least as I understand what common rail means.

td5 uses unit injectors each injector is a pump and injector in one, they take there feed from a common low pressure rail or gallery.unlike a standard common rail
