Anyone running 35 or 37 inch tyres on a D2.. I already have a body lift my concern is, do you have to upgrade the halfshafts, and change the transfer box gearing.. Any other problems? Or Can you run these tyres on standard spec..
This is for road and off road use (daily use),
Thanks Rob.

A 'generic' stage 2 remap is irrelevant for such wide tyres, the remap must be addapted to the new VSS, also do you have larger intercooler, increased boost and uprated MAP sensor for that remap? if not i stronlgy recommend you to fit an EGT gauge at least you'll know when to ease the throttle.

The VSS with those tyres is 14.3% out so that vehicle is dangerous on road when it comes to braking cos the ABS system is completely mixed up...if you are not concerned about yourself at least think to others, i can't understand why some people want to transform a D2 into a monster truck

You might get away with 35's. But will likely need to re-gear. It'll be horrendous on the road and way too quick in low first. 4.10:1 diff gears would make a difference. You are also at much more risk of breaking the diffs and half shafts, which can be done with stock tyres off road.

But you could run it until it breaks, however you'd always be on borrowed time.

Checkout Ashcroft Transmission for upgrades, but be prepared to drop £1500-2500+ per axle.

35's you'll also need to hack the bodywork up most likely. Unless you have lifted it too far, in which case you may find it performs worse off road. Too unstable and not enough wheel travel.

37's will be a step even further and you would run the risk of breaking even the upgraded axles. Plus power wise the Td5 may really struggle at this point if you want to keep it peppy on the road.
