Right guys head bang time , help help help needed. D2 v8
Fob has decided to stop working.
I’ve had a issue where I have lost key communication with car, unlock door with key alarm goes off and car is in state of immobiliser with solid red led.
Actions taken
:EKA code entered and accepted by bcu scanned with nano no key detected, RF test no signal detected
: Rf receiver changed with one from a good friend that I trust and said it worked ( no change in symptoms)
: Bcu removed and tested and repaired at call Rova with key fobs, 100 percent he says keys fobs work, refitted and programmed with nano ( still same issue)
:IDM removed and inspected, signs of corrosion so it was replaced by a new tested and warranted unit, key left in on click 2 to reprogramme ( no change)
:Traced wires from rf to bcu and did a continuity test yellow plug pin 5 and 6 on bcu we don’t have broken wire.
: a test BCU was borrowed with working fob, installed reprogrammed with correct procedure (still same issue)
: earth tested from bolt on receiver to earth on header behind grill in the boot we have continuity there,
I’m now at a complete dead end, other than bite the bullet and actually say that I have 2 duff receivers but find it hard to believe
Test carried out with nano com no key signal detected . Rf nanocom test no key signal detected.
Please help I’m ready to burn it down to the ground lol

I love the fact you've asked some "very educated people" and then in desperation, come to thick old us!!!!

No I have never used a forum before I’m not sure how to do it. I don’t mean to offend anyone sorry
You are doing OK. It is usual to post in Introduce Yourself first, but plenty don't.

Electronic faults and key issues are fairly common on these vehicles. I don't have much to do with that sort of thing, but going to tag @neilly and @sierrafery , they often know about this stuff.

Well I’ve put a little bit about myself on that section now. I’ve learnt quite a lot about d2 life that maybe I can give a little back so I wont be disappearing and here to stay

Hi, without blaming your friend i'd replace the receiver with a new one cos as long as the BCU is confirmed OK and the circuit continuity between the BCU and receiver as well i can't see other reason for the RF test to fail with a programmed and working fob

Thanks for the reply Sierra that’s exactly what I thought so on that note I’ve ordered a brand new one and will report back.
