I know, it's not a very good explanation

What I'm talking about is the metal locating spring that's on several of the electrical connectors in the engine bay. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words, so here is an example of the item.

Does anyone have just the metal springy bit from the clip on the bottom of the waste modulator? (I'm assuming it's the same as connector shown below)

Thanks very much.

On one of your links there was another item which has a spring which looks even closer.

I'll hedge my bets and get one of each... I'll let you know if either do the job.

ur very welcome

am sad like this as I enjoy trying to find parts , fingers crossed it works

when I take clips off inc the small injector ones I use a small piece of Cotten, move the clip out just enough to get some thread round it as we all know once they ping off there lost for eternity , lol

Obviously the missing spring has pinged off and landed on something soft as I didn't realise it was gone until I was replacing the tubing on the wastegate regulator the other week. I'm surprised the connector hadn't shaken itself loose.

always the way and annoying as hell due to the grief it causes searching to get another one

as a temporary measure can u use some small cable ties, one round the connector then going the other way with 2 x cable ties securing it to the main part

have spent many a time looking for bits I’ve dropped whilst working on the D3 engine, plenty places for them to hide

there’s a small clip on one of the water hoses , if that gets lost u have to buy the complete hose at some £200

£200 for a bit of pipe?! :confused::eek::D

indeed, it’s one of the long water pipes that are made up of several sections, goes from the engine thermostat to the bottom rad connection , alas if any part is lost from the pipe u have to buy the complete item , retails around £200

This hose is part of a pair, namely £200 each

however , this hose after 2007 is nearly £400 as there different

then you’ve got the egr water cooler pipes , rads , inc the cooler matrix’s

do think now some non genuine items are becoming available to save having to buy the complete item, or using silicone hoses if it’s just one section that’s gone, save a fortune

Oh and ur like the price of the adaptive headlights, dread to think what some of the Range Rover parts cost

can see why when they get broken for parts can make some a good amount of money back
