hello, i have searched in the forum, but my english isnt good so i cant find the right thread or summit?

i would like to know what is the difference between 200tdi and 300tdi front axles? 200tdi is LHD 1991 year and 300tdi LHD is 1997 year.

thank you and sorry :D

300tdi narrower hubs and drive members allowing more choice of ali wheels 300 are all 24 spline diffs only later 200s where ,300 share common parts across lr range apart from calipers same as defender and rrc 300 tdi

i just think if i change axles from 300tdi to 200tdi, then i have 24 spiline axles, is the ratio same in 200 and 300 diffs? would i change calipers from 200 to 300 axles? i noticed that 300 axles have only 1 brakehose and 200 have 2.

i´m askin because i bought 300tdi without engine and trans yesterday and i dont know what to do with :)... it´s imported from dutcland :) (holland)

i think i change hole axles and put 200tdi front calipers, is it ok? and i just looked underneat rear axle and noticed it has different outputflange? or what it called? 3 bolt in 300tdi and my current is 200tdi 4 bolt, what to do with that?

You will need to confirm the 200 Caliper fits to the 300 axle. I know for sure there was a thread about this on the forum recently but can't remember the outcome.

I think they wouldn't fit because the mounting bolts are different, but maybe you could test it and modify slightly to fit your 200 calipers.

As for the rear, remove the 3 bolt drive flange from 300 axle and fit your 4 bolt flange. Remember to remove the spacer from behind the 4bolt flange and fit it to the 300 axle. If your 4 bolt flange is a 4 spline type, you will need to buy a multi spline type flange from a late 200tdi.

You could always get a 300 prop and use that, but the 3 bolt flange is not as good as the 4 bolt.

the difference in caliper bolts is early are imperial later metric ,1/2 inch is slightly smaller than 13mm so imperial calipers can be drilled out to metric ,metric calipers would be to big hole wise for imperial bolts as caliper bolt shanks need to be dowel fit

A lot of work but the body is basically the same so it could fit.

You would need to change the dashboard, wiring loom, engine loom, all the pipework...

Basically you need to swap the 300 into the 200.

I prefer 200s, and would keep the old technology, but otherwise why don't yOu just fit engine and box into the 300 and make it a runner?
