Hi everyone (first post)
I have a disc TD5, year 2000.
I have done a diagnostics test to find what is causing my engine warning light to come on. Faults that came up were:

20 Air flow circuit fault
83 High speed crank sync lost fault
87 Noisey crank signal detected
92 Exhaust gas recirulation valve stuck closed.

Cleared these faults to start from fresh. The only one that came back up was

83 High speed crank sync lost fault.

It runs and drives, cuts out now and again and feels underpowered. I have read in a few posts that with a faulty crank sensor it shouldn't run at all.
Any advice please.

Introduce yourself first !! Some people find it cheeky to just come in here for advice !!
Politeness costs nowt and does pay off !!
Just bit of friendly advice.

The first place to check on a TD5 for "indeterminate" engine errors and odd behaviour is the red plug on the ECU. If there's any oil in it then it almost certainly means a change of the injector electrical harness.
If not then as johnlad says above, "it sounds like a crank sensor fault.

if we take into account the MIL warning too beside the fault codes for me it's almost certain that it's the crank sensor or it's circuit at fault

I changed the crank sensor, for one made by intermotor, ran for about 1 minute cut out, it would restart but as soon as I tried to set off cut out. The old one did have alot of oil all round it, I cleaned it all off put back in seems to be working fine. Engine light gone out, been on a hour long test drive with no problems. Anyone had any trouble with intermotor parts?

when it's about such important things like the crank sensor IMO only GENUINE is an option, not even OEM if you want performance, it's exactly like you want to drink a good quality scotch or som sh*t bourbon... you'll be drunk at the end but the hangover will be more oainfull:D:D
