hello,
ive just bought a 1999 2.0l xdi freelander,
its had its mot and the advisory notice said, propshaft from transferbox to rear diff missing,
what does that mean, a. costwise££ b. drivability.
i think they saw me coming

It will be 2wd, the VCU will have failed and damaged the drivetrain (IRD and final drive)
Very expensive to put right. How much did you pay for it?

As Trewy says, you should've checked underneath no matter what you buy.
If it's a cheapie, just live with it & keep running around in 2wd as long as the IRD doesn't
complain.
