Just wondered if anyone out there has experience with Cooper Discoverer STT tyres and could give me their thoughts on them?
I've read some good reports and as they are cheaper than BFG and a strong 10 ply rating I am thinking of maybe giving them a go, but are they any good on the road as they (supposedly) are off it?
Cheers.

Hi

I have been running these tyres for the last year and have been impressed. I have the 265/75/16 running on the old three spoke range rover alloys on a 110.

On road tyre noise is not too bad but I do suffer from steering wobble at over 70. It is an old truck with no power steering so it may be more down to worn components that are showing up with the extra width rather than the tyre tread itself. I have done about 6000 miles in the last year with limited signs of wear. Traction and grip are fine.

Offroad i have mixed views. Excellent at general offroading. The side walls are very strong and make good rock climbers. Have found them poor in wet clay mud and snow. The treads just fill up and is like running slicks. Maybe i am expecting too much of a general purpose tyre and need to think of something more manly for the winter over here (Bulgaria)

All in all I would but them again

Andy
