So then reworking the front end of my 90 and looking as rad is knackered thinking is fitting a 300tdi rad with intercooler would be a welcome addition for my currently non intercooled turbo.
Looking for second hand leaves me concerned about the life expectancy of an old unit, gen unit is going to be £500 + but Britpart Rad rad and intercooler assembly is £230.......... how bad can you make a rad and intercooler????
anyone bought one, want to comment, i'm not the biggest fan of Britpart but we are talking a considerable saving?

I would not fit Britpart safety critical items or brearings etc. but a radiator has no moving parts so I've got no problems using the cheaper ones. I've had a Britpart radiator on my TD5 for two years with no problems.

buy the rad for £100 and buy a 2nd hand IC. There are loads of 300tdi ones on Ebay and their Alu so as long as there are no punctures or massive dents, they will be fine. Very cheap to!

should be able to secure both for less than £150.

I have to agree with griff, I got my IC from ebay 2nd hand for around £10, its the same as the 200 tdi one and the same for either disco or defender, I used thinners and it came up almost as good as new (make sure its 100% dry before the install)

Me and a firend fitted a Bearmach radiator into his 300 tdi 90, it's seemed good enough quality and was quite straight forward.. we did have to make a quick trip to replace the oli cooler pipe located on the bottom of the rad as it was quite corroded, so make sure you check conditions of hoses, pipes connections before hand.
