I would like to have a 90 V8 auto, but they are more rare than hens teeth.

How complex is it to convert a manual into an Auto, will the RR box from the classic fit?

As I have no time at all, I'll be looking for a garage to do the work, is there a tame place in the West (75 miles from Bristol) that anyone would recommend?

Cheers

Rob.

i agree paying someone to do it will cost a hell of a lot more than a arm and a leg and a kidney from the black market, the only way its sensible is to do it yourself if not find a v8 auto

Sounds bloody expensive to me, keep looking for Hens teeth. Mines a factory auto which I picked up in Bath, I've seen a few auto's for sale since getting mine.

Factory Auto in '89, I'm amazed.

I always thought they were the only Autos available from the factory in the UK

I thought the Defender wasn't sold to America until about '93, but only in manual form. The Autos didn't appear until about '97, and then only briefly.

oh, ok.Confusing.I was suggesting trying to find a NAS spec one cos yanks are lazy and drive autos.Dunno wot ages they would be
