convert from petrol to diesel

thats what i thought, i have converted rovers to diesel and new looms were needed, but he says all the extra plugs are taped up.

he could have sold me the loom so this bits confusing me lol.
well need to find a breakers that will let me strip the loom out i think any ideas????

I dont have any experience from working with the L-series, but if petrol and diesel engines have different sensors, then these would have different wiring assemblages and possibly feedback wires??

Dr Dave would know off hand.

I would imagine that the only similarities in the two looms would be from ECU to instrument panel and possibly diagnostic port under dash.

I dont have Heinz manwell at hand but if you get a wiring diagram for engine sensor to ECU for both petrol and diesel this would clearly show if details/wiring colours etc are the same.

MHM - are you reading all this, have you any wirng diagrams of main engine sensors

I will have a look for wiring diagragms, but I was amused by your mention of Dr Dave! - fine fellow that he is (I met him on a trip to Somerset once) - when his name wud mean bugger all to most peeps on this forum:D.

just an update
spoke to a 4x4 gearbox specialist today and asked him he said the only different box was for the td 4 which is a lot bigger all the rest used the same boxes so looks like its an easy fix.
