Much has been written within this forum, of the difficulties in connecting the disco 200tdi exhaust manifold to the existing td exhaust, and many seem to advocate the Steve Parker adapator. However, given the cost of Parker's sections, and the difficulty in fabricating your own, I wonder if there are good reasons why no one advocates the use of flexi-exhaust sections such as : EXHAUST FLEXIBLE TUBING / PIPE 57mm inside dia. 0.5mtr on eBay (end time 22-Nov-09 10:02:13 GMT) I suspect that it falls into the category of - if it seems too good to be true..it is! But why???
Cheers...

Had a look at some similar pipe when I was fabricating my own down pipe but was'nt sure if I get the tight bends that I needed.

This stuff does not give a very tight bend. I used some on a side exit conversion but it was a botch job. I took it to a stainless place and had a proper section welded on.

This is what I used and I'm really happy with it.

It was 65 quid from this guy on Ebay and I then ended up buying his intercooler pipes too as I wanted a "proper job" ;)

200tdi discovery engine into defender 90/110 down pipe on eBay (end time 25-Nov-09 22:12:14 GMT)

As I'm not the best welder in the world (in fact, probably one of the worst!) then I didn't fancy tackling the many cut and weld method that I've seen done by others.

As for the flexi-pipe, I don't reckon you'd get the angles with it and of course you'd have the fun of attaching it to the old cut down downpipe.

Cheers
