Hi i have a 99 TD5 disco. It broke down 120 miles away today. grrrr.:mad: got towed back with a chipped 110 pickup though!!:)
the breakdown was caused by a snapped inlet air supply elbow on top of the compressor.
My question is does anyone have one of these or does anyone know where i can get one quickly. No wheels so stuck home!!!:mad:

found the part from a landrover garage. great guys!! changed the air bags.now found the compressor has died!!! :confused:
does anyone have a good second hand one? or where is the cheapest place to buy a new one? desperate now have no wheels over christmas.thank you
 
you sure its the compressor? has it frozen up?

they dont like damp in them i know that much and tis the season for frost? is it frozen air lines?

my advice try to test the pump 1st to see if it runs or if you can test the winding and see if it has brushes in the motor

then see if you can check the air lines by seeing a compressor specialist and getting to test from the pump to the bags that way it will give you a clue and if you are deep in the poo he could rig up a set up so you can charge it by a foot pump or something so you can get home

it all happened after the air supply elbow bend snapped at the compressor. it was working fine. i think the compressor has cooked itself after working so hard for god knows how long.[also stayed on after engine was stopped. i have stripped it down today in the garage. fitted new air bags at same time. but there is nothing at all. all the lines are fine. checked relay and fuse, all ok.the compressor just doesnt work
 
If u are handy enough to addapt the air supply hose to it u can use a good HD tyre inflator compressor which fits within the compressor housing. It will raise the back a bit slower but will do the job for 10% of the money. I have a russian one fitted instead the original one(which burned out on me too) and it's working just fine.
