compressor for air tools

Im thinking of getting some air tools but dont really know much about the compressors or what type/make I should go for? How much would I expect a decent one to cost?

Its generally just for weekend hobby stuff on the Landy (polisher,tyre inflator, grinder, sprayer, impact wrench etc).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

anything much less than 14cfm wont run your tools very long

i run a 8cfm with a 50 litre tank its ideal for tyres odd spraying air ratchet. anything like a air grinder sander high volume tools will not work for any lengh of time.for hobby its ideal

theyd do you , i had a snap-on one lasted 6 months replaced motor/compressor unit with machine mart still goes ten years later

snap-on does not make there compressors or welders, jobbed out with there name on it

both of those look like they are rated for free air cfm, not working cfm

I got a tiny one, only 24L but fine for what i need, no use for impact gun for long use, but good for really stubborn bolts, tyres air ratchet etc. got compressor for free so cant complain. Ideally what you want its 100l + of your using grinders impact gun etc

All new to this, dont want to buy one, get into it and then realise in hindsight I should have bought a different type

Free air CFM is where the compressor is putting out air with no back pressure, as in filling the tank. Is a marking technique to make you think you are getting something for nothing. Most compressors are rated @40psi and again @90 psi. That compressor doubt it will be over 6cfm @90 psi.

Look at at the paste I put up will show the cfm@ 40 and 90 psi, look at different out puts of air, This compressor is rated @ 12 cfm
