Forgot to add a 5" lift with 6 degree arms will see diff nose and transfer box running at quite an angle, I think you will require a double Cardon front prop not just wide angle ..... They are 2-300 although I got a brand new one off eBay for £50 from a guy who had a bulk load of em

I just went to a local dealer around the corner, his tera 2" with 33" tires looked really clean. I think i might go with that. A little cheap anyhow. Just trying to sort out weather or now to get the shocks with a reservoir or to go with the ones in the kit, I like the ones with the reservoir.

I tore apart the interior today, almost done. I was under the truck looking at the frame, couldn't find one rust spot that needs repairing. Still though might go with a new galv chassis. I know it will last longer. Any thoughts?

4 Days, if you average the hours out about 2 - 8 hour days. Not to bad, If i say so myself. Bed of truck is ready to be taken off. Loosened the bolts already. Shop in Bury is going to sort out the rusted parts for me and zinc plate the bulkhead and some other bits. Should be done bye the end of next week. hopefully.

Just a note regarding bolt grades.

A 12.9 has a higher tensile strength than a 10.9, which has a higher tensile strength than a 8.8. However the higher you go with the tensile strength the more brittle the steel becomes. This isn't necessarily a problem depending on the bolted joint in question and the forces that bolt sees but personally I wouldn't upgrade bolts for the sake of it as I don't think it's really needed, the spec chosen by Land Rover for each application is sufficient. For what it's worth in my experience I have found that most body fixings are 8.8 and suspension bolts (i.e. the ones through the buses) are often 10.9 rated.

Axles are off and Tearing down the tank and lines today. Getting ready to move the engine soon. Then new chassis is coming in and going to start the rebuild.

Truck is in pieces at this point. Waiting for new chassis. Also has ankle surgery, that hasn't helped at all. So at this point just stripping down everything. Will update soon with pics.

Thanks all been sourcing out new parts and getting the old ones restored. Big process in all things. Hardest part is getting parts around town. And picking them up then putting back together. Just got my front axle back, was sand blasted then powder coated black.

Question for u all. I need to replace the calipers or just rebuild them? The guy couldn't powder coat them due to the brake fluid stil leaking. And their in pretty bad shape as it is.

So buy new ones or rebuild the old ones?

Wish someone out there had a complete rebuild list of seals to buy. Eyes have fallen out comparing part numbers to part listings on Paddocks and other sites. Want to die..................

what seals ? and is powder coating really the best ,the last build i did which the guy had all the stuff powder coated you could hear it crack and flake as stuff was fastened

Just putting new rubber on all the doors, windows, then under the truck cab and all the little bits on the bulkhead and on the rest of the truck.

I honestly don't know if powder coating is the best, but if done right looks really clean, and should last 15-20 years. Just like POR15 if you have grease under it doesn't set right. At least thats what I have been told buy a few blasting company's
