Commercial tailgate locking kit

Hello, found out this item (part code YNI500010) was fitted to commercial vehicles, but how?
could this be a alternative way to open tailgate when it is stuck due to tailgate handle failure?

Cany quite work out exactly what it is, but looks like it provides another switch somewhere (other than the normal handle) to open the door. It'd solve problems if it is the switch that is the problem but presumably would not solve any other problems.

Interestingly it looks to be for F1 and D3/D4 - funny combo.

It’s fitted in the rear drivers side trim panel on a commercial and basically triggers the same wires as the handle but it’s there so you can get out a commercial Freelander if the door shuts on you!

Simple to fit once you’ve worked out which wires and yes an alternative to the rear door handle
