Hey I have a quick question, when I'm driving my freelander it seems to drive fine, yet when I press the accelerator it seems to have a loss of power, no service light or Service engine soon, when I start it up. though, after driving it comes on, with p1142, I've noticed one time when it seem to have hardly any high rev pick up, but it gradually picks up speed if I press the accelerator lightly??, thanks. :)

Hey Just finally got the rave manual back, and it states the code p1142 means;Throttle potentiometer 2 / Ratio of throttle potentiometer 2 signal to air flow implausible" Any idea what this means, do I need a new throttle body? thanks

What market is the Freelander for? US spec KV6s use a drive by wire TB and a MAF.

ok, its an on and off issue, currently, if it keeps up i'll have to pick up a throttle body, thanks

That's all can think it would be. The system works with a position sensor at the pedal from which the ecu works out how much to move the throttle butterfly by comparing the throttle pedal position with the actual butterfly position as sensed by the throttle pot built into the TB.
If that makes any sense? I think the throttle pot has an intermittent fault so the position feedback is lost, in this instance the ecu has to work out actual throttle position based on air flow through the MAF.
