got the fender out to do some work and it was ok when i went to put it back into the garage i pressed the peddle in and it stopped at pressed in now i have no clutch the peddle moves up and down but the clutch does not work!

how much fluid should the master cylinder have in it?

has anyone any ideas of what this could be?

is there anyone in sheffield who could help?

thanks lee

If you open the reservoir for the clutch you should be able to see fluid in it pretty much up to the top level with the cap. It is a bit odd for it to suddenly fail. If you have your bell housing wading plug in them remove it. If anything comes out it is probably your clutch fluid

thanks for that i had a look and theres only a bit of fluid in the reservoir!

i get some fluid and top it up and see what happens?

If the pedal has stuck at the floor then I would guess that the pivot arm has gone through the clutch release fork. I hope not for your sake and it is just fluid as the formerwould mean a gearbox removal !!!

looks like a failed slave cylinder took the wadding plug out and quite a bit of fluid came out so i left it out i get a new slave this week and fit it.

seems like it could have the pivot poking through it ,rod should be clipped but can be fitted without if you hold it in place using the pressure of slave

could do with someone local who knows what there doing to come and have a look at it for me to see if i need to take the gearbox out.

Did you fit a new slave as above?
If so and it is still like it then try and look through with a torch where the slave hole is.
Difficult I know and if you don't know what you're looking for it's even more difficult.
Might be worth checking the pedal spring and clutch M/c first.
After that I'm afraid you may need to bite the bullet and drop the gearbox.
If it is the arm fit a new clutch while you are there. Oh and some people lift the engine instead - personal preferance really.

We are all here to help too.
You will need an engine crane though. I took mine out with trolley jacks but had to buy a crane to put it back!!!
