had leaking master cylinder replaced 2/12 ago.In last week difficult to engage(in order of difficulty) reverse, first then second gear and no bite in clutch for upper half of travel. No obvious leaks/fluid level normal. Has only done 34000miles. A diagnosis would ease the pain of uncertainty....

2/12 ago?

I'm assuming you mean 2 1/2 WEEKS ago. It's common for the slave to fail not long after the master is replaced and vice versa.

It's possible that you have an air lock in the system.

Another common fault is the clutch fork wearing through.

Thanks for that.It was 2 months ago that the master cylinder was replaced. It has been fine since then until the last week or so...

Took it to the dealer as lost confidence in the garage who replaced master cylinder. It was a loose nut in the pedal box.
