Hi all newbie here and newdie to the world of land rovers I have a freelander 1 td4 and had usual problem of low clutch pedal so after lots of reading I thought I would give it ago and bleed it I know you will be sick of the questions regarding this but here goes I bled it as described but on the 3rd pump of pedal it was at full night after lifting it by hand and then went rock solid even with bleed nipple open so I locked nipple off so pressure be there but couldn't move pedal so I slowly applied more and more pressure and it started to go down then I had a big bang pedal hit floor and when looked under bonnet the quick release had blown apart so reconnected it but pedal still stay on floor so I disconnect quick release and pumped pedal and nothing at all came out and of pipe no fluid at all even tho master cylinder was full would you say I buggered master cylinder or something in the bell housing .......sorry for long winded post and thanks in advance of replies

If the quick release is blowing apart and the pedal is solid. Then it sounds like the concentric has seized up. Have you tried starting the engine?

Yes I have started it can get gears with it off but not when started was working till bled it but as car was driven more on a journey I was loosing more and more clutch ie harder to select gears as if pressure was dropping

Update new master cylinder on but still very little clutch ie 1 inch if that then if I drive for little while I find it hard to engage gears full stop there is no leaks at all from bleed nip. Bell housing or quick connector does this need bleeding and if so what's best way
