Afternoon all,

Got a problem on the 109, it all started the other day when i went to move the landy on the drive, put my foot on the clutch and the pedal went solid. Gave it abit of pressure and it went normal again and i put her in gear and moved her.

Then fast forward to today when i went to move it ready to go out, pedal went solid, tried abit of pressure then it went just fell to the floor. Took the inspection hatch off the master to find the push rod had come away from the cylinder and was abit bent. Changed that for a spare one and went to bleed it.

Now when i press the pedal it starts off sort and the last half is solid.

Any ideas whats up?

cheers

thrust bearing?? had a similar symptom on a 406, started like yours, then started sticking on the way up, till eventually it want down and stayed there.

Well i seem to have solved the problem.

Took the slave off and the push rod was still where it should be, so i stuck the old slave on which i took off when i replaced the master even though it was working.

Bled it up and low and behold i've got a clutch back.

if you take the rubber cover off the slave you may fidn out that the slave has rusted up, did you use britpart ones? i found that they only lasted 2 or 3 months so fitted a lucas one to mine in the end. but that would go solid then the seals would blow and drop all the fluid so maybe a little different.

Yep it was britpart. The old lucas one is back on and working now!

I've got a few britpart bits on my car, slowely replacing them for better bits!
