Hi all

i ve searched on here to no avail so need some advice please had new engine fitted to the range out of a omega which is running sweet now my problem is the clutch. the car has no biting point as when i press the clutch in i can just about put it in gear but when i want to change gear from say first to second it wont let me and it starts to crunch but if i pump the clutch a few times and then try to put it in gear it goes straight in had the pins in the fork changed as they were worn and snapped when i got them out

does the clutch need bleeding or something any help much appreciated gearbox and clutch were fine before engine come out also no electrics work no air suspension or electric windows or mirrors does say they need resetting

hi

did you support the gearbox when removing the engine if not you will have stretched the pipe to the clutch, by the problem you describe the pipe is leaking meaning you have to pump pedal to get pressure, go underneath and check for leaks following the pipe all the way, also have a look in your brake reservoir it may need topping up

Probably needs pressure bleeding as the stroke of the master cylinder is insufficient to move the full slave cylinder oil fluid volume. At the moment, strongly suspect there is still air trapped.:behindsofa:

hi all

just been away over weekend thanks for all the replies its in the garage so will be bled tomorrow hopefully used the flywheel and the clutch off the range rover and bolted them on to omega engine only used the engine from the omega stripped it down to just the engine then bolted all the parts off the range rover

also it sprung an oil leak from where the dipstick sits in so just ordered new tube with all o rings and new dipstick from dealers £60 inc VAT got 10% trader discount on it after talking to the chap over the counter
