hi all, just a quick question, i have a v8 manual, 1996, just wondering what is the best way of changing the clutch, i.e pull the engine out or just take the box off, any help would be great, thanks

Engine. I did the box because it was shagged, but it's far easier to take the bonnet off, rad out and move it forward, not even a lot of work!!

how do you get to all the bell housing bolts without dropping the box down? can you reach them over the top of the engine and down the back between the bulkhead?

heres a good question for you, can I get the box out of a 72 range rover without taking the tunnel out?

looking in the dark at the scrapper with it half cut out I am not sure you could get the gearbox mounting bolts from underneath?

top ones would be a bastid to get any weight on-40 yars old itll need some!

i cut ot the floor and the heads off on the breaker but cant do that on me 72

if you have a ramp easy drop the trans if not drop the engine
as a bench mark record for a box out is 45 min on a ramp
engine out on the floor 2 hours with a few damaged bolts on the exhaust
