Hi All, so my clutch has started to slip. Going on holiday in 12 days towing a caravan so feel I should get this sorted. I have been advised that I should change my dual mass flyer wheel at the same time, should I? Not keen to throw the cash away but have any of you had this advice before.
It's a 2004 TDI with 103k miles.
Advise would be appreciated as I need to crack on with this soon before we go away :)

Cheers
Kevin

The TD4 DMF is pretty robust, unlike the VW one. So get it checked when the clutch is done, and don't replace it if it checks out as being in spec.

Is changing the clutch something I could take on, or would recommend getting my mechanic to do it?
I drive an auto, simply because I hate doing clutch changes. Well I do think the Freelander drives better as an auto, but I still don't like doing clutch changes on them. It's a horrible job that takes over 5 hours of grovelling on your back and knees. If you like that kind of torture, then go ahead. Otherwise pay someone with the skills to do it properly. ;)
