I am about to start the restoration of a series 2a landrover. I know it needs lots of chassis work but whilst I am there it's best to do other jobs if they are needed. So here is the problem both the break and clutch pedal just go flat to the floor, the engine runs but I can't think how to test the gear box etc without actually driving it (and to be honest I wouldn't mind taking it round the field once before a restoration that is bound to take 3 to 6 months)
My question is then this, do I have to replace or reconditoion existing slave and or master cylinders to do this or is there a way of getting them back working by a bodge just for a day or so? I could of course by new bits but am told when out of use for several months they often go wrong.
I am relable told by the previous owner that she arrived fully working as was parked at his yard but has not moved for two year.
any advice as evey would be greatly appreciated
