Hi guys,

New to this forum and new to RRC ownership so please don't bite if this is a stupid question :p

I've recently bought a 93 Classic Vogue LSE which has a full length vinyl sunroof. The winder handle for the roof appears to have been broken off at some point and I've been trying to find a replacement so I can get the roof open and check the condition of it's tracks.

Here's the problem, no matter how hard I try, I can't find any information about this type of roof on the Classic. Is this a rare thing to have on the car or am I just not looking hard enough?

I've attached a couple of pics of the car to give you an idea of what the roof looks like, any insight would be massively appreciated.

Cheers in advance, Alex :) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352935193.964861.jpg

As I recall the ragtop wasn't a LR option and was an aftermarket conversion. A quick Google comes up with WEBASTO a lot.

Thanks very much, I had a feeling it might not have been a factory option. Hopefully that doesn't mean it'll be impossible to find the right winder for...

If anyone has any idea where I might be able to get bits it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for the info so far guys, I obviously wasn't asking google the right question :)

Yep. Webasto vinyl sunroof. Takes me back to my old Triumph days. Fitted and fixed many of these. Pity you're the other end of the country. A classic car restorer or local retrimmer will be able to help you with this. You could also try Rimmer Bros. They used to do these, but you will need to look through their Triumph sections.

Wow, small world isn't it?

Bought it from a small car dealer in Edinburgh as I'd been after a Classic since my P38 died. Plan to restore it to it's former glory.

1992LSE, do you think your mate will have any further information on the car's history around? Any info at all would be massively appreciated as the car was supplied with all the service documents for a later soft dash model which doesn't match this car? :S

The V5 document is in the post so hopefully I'll find that out soon.

Alex

It is a Tudor Webasto sunroof. I used to have one on my old classic.
A pain to open but when it is rolled right back it was great in the summer.
It has a solid ash frame if I remember well. I got mine recovered, can't remember by whom.
Try Woolies for old spare parts. I think the handle used to fold and fit in a recess.

i will give him a call at the weekend and see what he has. i know his son had it after him. and the car was serviced by broadfields of cockfosters then aylmer motors at bell bar hatfield
