Granted it's no secret that LR products don't feature very highly in all the reliability surveys, but I was a bit miffed at JC's statement re. ''the worlds most un-reliable vehicles'' having owned 4 RRC's myself. Expensive to keep on the road (properly) I grant you but mine have never failed to me to my intended destination & (as the RR literature used to say) also got me home!

I hate the "German reliability" lemming mentality - its a pile of crap.German stuff is no better than anything else, most of my work in fixing LR stuff is either BMW or Bosch failures. And F-ck me its expensive to repair. Most older LR breakdowns - pre BMW influence are down to old age, abuse, lack of servicing or poor quality aftermarket parts.
I wish Honda had been given the chance to buy LR - at least they seem able to keep up quality control standards, unlike BMW,Merc,Volvo, etc.
I'm not anti German at all,my ageing Stihl chainsaws are the best there are,but there is no way I'd ever bother buying a BMW bike, when there are such good alternatives that are reliable and last.(And go better)
