Im sure this would have come up before and i tried searching for it but it turned up nothing.

Anyways someone told me that you can chip the TD4 and i wouldnt mind looking into it, as it could do with making more interesting. I did consider selling it as i wish id bought somthing else but my girlfriend likes the car and i gues it is practical.

Any info such as what results i should expect and what it will do to reliability, Fuel consumption, cost etc would be much appreciated.

Thanks...Shane.

Mine was chipped in october 2001 (but in Belgium) and both the engine and the autogearbox seem to love the extra power/torque. Everything runs more smoothly, even the driver does...;) Don't know nor think I do more mileages as automatically one uses the extra power a little in acceleration etc.. In theory you need less fuel for same performances but in real life I guess you use the same fuel for more performances. Anyway, even I'm driving very relaxed and not racing each and every Golf or other "would-be's" I enjoy it very much and not regretted it one second.
