I speak from experience, not with td5 or even a car but a bike.

NOT worth it!
Your engine/turbo/injectors/fuel pump are unique to you in the way it's all worn together. The best aftermarket solutions are never just 'off the shelf'. Hope this helps.

when this kit first appeared about two years ago on ebay the seller gave a few for free only postage with the condition to fit it and give him feedback... i was curious and maybe a bit mad enough to go for it on my own risk, i have no remorse now cos it works brilliant, i've had long discussions about that with the guy who do them and i can vouch for this thing... it's not some "aftermarket" thing, you mail him the MSB ECU number and he will give you a chip with one of the maps from a compatibility list which are suitable for that particular ECM, i've got the sport(which is a stage 2 map) for free then i bought the economy(stage 1) too and i swap the chips in the ECM according to my needs, it's exacly as good as any other 300ish quid remap made by other well known 'suppliers' cos that's what they do too on MSB ECU, they replace the chip with a remapped one, period, they can make live adjustments only on NNN ECMs not on MSB cos once the chip is fitted there's no communication with it through the OBD port, not even read ability

IMO it worths every penny of it, i have them on my own car and fitted to some friends too and everybody is pleased, ... and you have my word that i dont have any interest in this business

SF - Does the EPROM fit into a socket on the ECU? I ask because PLCC format devices usually do have a socket, but I've also seen them soldered directly to the board, which makes them a pain in the bum to remove...

the original MSB ECU has the chip soldered directly into the board but this kit implies to remove the old chip and solder a socket which comes with the remapped chip, then you can swap chips when ever you want
