Hi All,

My charge light came on yesterday, although the battery seems to be charging ok

With the engine running, i get 14.14v across the battery.

This drops to 12.13v with the engine off (a bit high?)

What else would cause the charge light to come on?

12.13V when off is actually a bit low. Resting voltage with no load should be 12.5 to 12.7. Could be your battery on its way out as even though your alternator is putting out over 14 (as it should) an internal fault in the battery could prevent it from absorbing the energy hence 'no charge'.

Thanks for that, HippoLover.

I'm not sure that i remembered that 12.13v correctly, I will go out and check it again today.
